Nvidia Ion Netbook - Save £70, under £300

CompaqIf you're after a small computer but with a bit more power than the average Atom-powered netbook, this could be just the deal.

The Compaq Mini 311c is a tiny netbook that also packs in Nvidia's clever Ion graphics processor, so despite its size it can play high definition videos.

It runs Windows XP, includes 1GB of memory and a 160GB hard disk and has an 11.6in display. Best of all, it's selling at a great price: previously £340, we've found it for just £270. Click the jump for details.

Packard Bell Laptop - Save £160!

Dot_maApologies for the limited supply of bargains over the last week - Computeractive's staff have been over in Hannover taking a look at the latest products due to appear in stores over the next few months. With that done, it's back to the bargains - and here's a great place to start.

This Packard Bell dot_ma laptop is small and light, but packs 2GB of memory, a 250GB hard disk and ATI graphics. It also has an 11.6in display and a six-cell battery. The normal selling price is £380, but today it's on sale for just £220 - click the jump for details on where to buy.

Acer Laptop - Save £100, Now Under £200!

Acer Aspire One 751If you're on the lookout for a low-cost laptop, then this could be just the thing - an Acer Aspire One netbook (one of the more recent models, not the older model often seen selling in refurbished PC stores) for just £199, and with a saving of £100.

The Aspire One 751 uses an Intel Atom Z520 processor with 1GB of memory and a 160GB hard disk. Its 11.6in screen is far bigger than those on most older netbook computers, and it runs Windows XP. The recommended price for this model is £300, but today we've found it for just £199 - that's a healthy third off the price, obviously. Click the jump for details.

Lenovo Laptop - Under Half Price!

Lenovo G550It's not often you see a discount this big: this Lenovo laptop computer has seen its price hacked down from £1186 to under £600.

The G550 has a 15.6" widescreen display, a dual-core Intel T6600 processor, Nvidia graphics, a whopping 4GB of memory, a 500GB hard disk and runs Windows 7 Home Premium. For details of where to grab this powerful laptop at a discount of over 50%, click the jump.

Three laptops from under £150

Dell Mini 9Netbook computers have become cheaper and cheaper over the past year, but it's still relatively rare to see one break the £200 barrier. In case you're on the lookout for a super-cheap laptop for internet and office use, though, we've rounded up the three cheapest deals currently available.

All three are for refurbished computers - these have been sold, returned, checked up by the manufacturers and certified as fit for resale. As they cannot be sold as new, these products are significantly discounted - often by as much as £100. But enough of that - what's the best deal?

Aspire OneWell, for just £132 you could pick up an Acer Aspire One netbook (pictured, left). This model has 8gb of storage and runs the Linplus Lite Linux operating system rather than Windows - fine if you want to surf the web or send email, and there's no need to install any security software to keep it safe.

Alternatively, if you'd prefer the familiarity and compatibility of Windows XP, we've found a store selling the same PC with that system installed for a little more: £160. This version also includes twice as much memory: 1GB rather than 512MB.

And finally, if you'd prefer another brand, we've found a shop selling refurbished Dell Mini 9 netbooks (pictured at the top of this post) for the same price of £160. These run the well known Ubuntu Linux operating system and have 8GB of storage.

Acer Aspire One netbook - just £118

Aspire OneWe're not sure how many Aspire One netbooks Acer must have made last year, but they just keep cropping up here on Cheapo Computers at lower and lower prices. Today we've found a store selling them for less than £120 - note that the models on sale are white, not blue as pictured here.

This particular model has an Atom processor, 512MB of memory and 8GB of solid state storage. It runs the not particularly great Linplus Lite Linux operating system, but this can be replaced with any of the free alternatives such as Ubuntu Netbook Remix. Click the jump for details.

Samsung NC10 3G Netbook - Save £50, get £30 back

samsung nc10If you're on the lookout for a mini-notebook or "netbook" computer then the chances are you've seen the models made by Samsung. Its NC10 was one of our favourite netbooks of the past year as it combines a sturdy case with an excellent keyboard. And, today only, you can get it at a discount.

The NC10 has an Atom processor, 1GB of memory, a 160GB hard disk and both wired and wireless network connections. It runs Windows XP, and this model also includes a built-in 3G modem, so by adding a SIM card you can access the web from almost anywhere. And by purchasing one today you can save £50 as well as picking up an extra £30 in vouchers. Click the jump for details.

Vivienne Tam netbook - Save £50

Vivienne Tam netbookFashion and computing are generally strange bedfellows, and the average computer doesn't look so much designed as hewn from a conveniently sized chunk of nasty plastic. Today, though, we've found that rare exception to the rule: an unusual-looking computer designed by Vivienne Tam.

The HP Mini 1099ea Vivienne Tam doesn't look anything like your average netbook - we suspect its deep pink shell and floral back will be liked by some and hated by others - but inside it's a very capable little computer with an Atom processor, 1GB of memory, a 60GB hard disk and Windows XP installed. And today we've found it selling at a healthy £50 discount - click the jump for details.

Fujitsu-Siemens Laptop - Just £200

Fujitsu LaptopIf you're on the lookout for a laptop - not a tiny netbook, but a proper, full-sized laptop - then you won't get one much cheaper than this. Today we've found a Fujitsu-Siemens laptop selling for just £200 including VAT.

As you might expect for under £200, it's not a particularly powerful computer, but with a 1.6GHz Celeron processor and 1GB of memory surfing the web or working on documents won't be a problem. In fact, if you're looking for a cheap computer for word processing this could be ideal, as netbooks tend to have small, cramped keyboards. The 15.4in display is far bigger than those on a netbook, too.

Swarovski Laptop (yes, really) - Just £350

Swarovski S300There may be thousands of laptops out there, but it's fair to say that many of them are much of a muchness: the same parts carefully packed into an assortment of ultimately rather similar cases. If you're looking for something a little unusual on a tight budget, this laptop could be ideal.

On the inside, the MSI S300 Crystal is a capable Windows notebook: there's a Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB of memory and a 160GB hard disk for storage. On the outside, however, it's inlaid with 120 pieces of Swarovski crystal.

Normally you'd expect something like this to come with a hefty price tag, but today we've found a store selling the S300 Crystal for just £350 - not bad for a standard laptop of this specification, and a rather good price for something so unique. Click the jump for details.

Inspiron Mini 10VIf you've been waiting for a good price on one of Dell's Inspiron Mini notebooks but missed the limited-time discount on offer the other week, this could be the bargain for you: a voucher that gives you 10% off any of the Inspiron Mini notebooks.

3G Netbook - Save £140, Now £180!

Aspire OneYes, it's yet another great deal on Acer's Aspire One netbook! This one's not the cheapest we've seen, but it is a great price considering the specification you get: as well as Windows XP Home, 1GB of memory (twice that of the cheapest model) and a 16GB SSD drive (twice the shock-proof storage space of the cheaper models) this version includes a 3G modem. Plug in a SIM card from one of the pay-as-you-go wireless broadband tariffs that are available and it'll surf the web at high speed, with no need for cables or a home broadband connection.

The original price for this model was £319, but we've found white models on sale for just £179. Click the jump for details.

Dell Inspiron Mini laptops for £162

Inspiron Mini 10VLast week we found some Dell Inspiron Mini 10 mini-laptops being sold for £180 - a £20 discount from the standard price. Sadly that deal has now ended, but we've found something even better: Dell Inspiron Mini netbooks going for just £162.

The laptops in question have an Intel Atom processor, 1GB of memory and a 160GB hard disk - that's plenty of room to store files. The Mini 10 has, as you might have guessed, a 10in display. Unlike the Linux versions we found last week, these ones run Windows XP. This model normally sells for around £250, so you're saving over £80. Click the jump for details.

The MT6839B has a dual-core Core 2 Duo T5300 processor, 2GB of memory and a 160GB hard disk, giving you enough power to run just about any program and plenty of storage space for video and music files. It's ready to connect to wireless networks and has both has a 15.4in widescreen display and a DVD writer.

Cheapest Acer laptop yet: just £114

Aspire OneAcer's Aspire One mini laptop has been something of a fixture on Cheapo Computers over the last few months: first we found them selling for £178, then £150, and now you can pick one up for the frankly stupid price of just £114, including VAT and delivery.

The Aspire One is a great little netbook computer that uses Intel's low-power Atom processor. This model has 512MB of memory and an 8GB SSD - that's not much room for files, but you can easily add more by popping an SD card into one of the computer's two memory card slots. It runs Acer's own version of the free Linux operating system, but you can easily install either Windows XP (if you have a suitable license and disc) or the free Ubuntu Netbook Remix.

For details of where to buy one, click the jump.

10in Dell Netbook - just £180, Save £20!

Inspiron Mini 10VIt might not be quite as cheap as the £150 Acer netbook we found a little while back, but this is a great deal nonetheless: a Dell netbook computer, normally priced at £199, now selling for just £180 including delivery.

The Inspiron Mini 10V is a great little netbook computer with a 10" display - significantly larger than the cheaper Acer Aspire One. It has an Atom processor, 1GB of memory, an 8GB SSD for storage and comes running Ubuntu Linux, so there's no need to faff about installing any extra security software.

This special offer gets you £20 off the normal price (a 10% discount), and delivery is included. Click the jump for details.

Toshiba Laptop: £50 Cashback, now £318

Satellite ProHere's an interesting laptop deal, provided you can act quickly: today several shops are offering £50 cashback on the Toshiba Satellite Pro L300-291 laptop. The prices listed for this model vary significantly, though, so even with the cashback many buyers won't be getting the best deal - we've tracked it down for you, of course.

The Satellite Pro L300-291 uses a dual-core Intel Core 2 Duo T5870 processor, so it's far more powerful than any netbook, and this model comes with 2GB of memory - shop carefully, as we've seen versions with just 1GB going for similar prices. There's also a 120GB hard disk, a DVD burner and a 15.4in screen.

To pick up this notebook for just £318 after £50 cashback, click the jump.

Dell Inspiron Laptop for £250

Dell Inspiron 1545If you have a limited amount of money to spend on a portable computer, you've probably considered the many excellent mini laptops, or "netbooks", currently on sale. We've listed quite a few good deals lately, including some for as little as £150. But what if you need something with a bigger screen, a little more storage and more power?

Well, for just £250, you could buy this Dell Inspiron 1545 . With an Intel E2610 processor, 2GB of memory and a 160GB hard disk, it's significantly more powerful than a netbook, and ready to take on just about any everyday computer task. Samsung N310 Netbook - Save £65!

Samsung N310Samsung's NC10 was one of our favourite netbook computers, but now the company has released a newer model: the N310. This tiny laptop packs an Atom processor, 1GB of memory and a 10.1" screen into a stylish case - but where's the best place to buy one?

The recommended price for the N310 is £399, with many retailers knocking the price down to £380, £370 or even £360. But today we've found a far better deal: you can get this great netbook (or mini-notebook, if you prefer) for just £332 with free delivery included. Click the jump for details.

Dell Mini Laptops under £150

Dell Mini 9With the latest batch of mini-notebooks growing ever larger we're beginning to wonder if manufacturers are missing the point - isn't a mini notebook supposed to be, well, mini?

Fortunately, though, many models from the last generation of really small netbooks are now being sold off at bargain prices. We recently found an Acer Aspire One going for £150, and now we've found some Dell Mini 9 models for a little less.

The Mini 9 is a great little notebook that's suitable for running Windows XP or Linux - some enterprising types have even managed to run Mac OS X on them, although doing so is illegal so we couldn't recommend it. It uses an Atom processor, and most models have 1GB of memory. Some use hard disks, while others have a smaller but shockproof SSD disk. Best of all, we've found a bunch selling for just £146. Click the jump for details.

£150 Acer Aspire laptops - now also in blue!

Aspire OneWe've seen a couple of excellent offers on Acer's Aspire One mini-laptop recently. First we found some going cheap because they were pink, then some refurbished models being sold for £150, and finally one of the best bargains of the year: brand new ones going for the same price.

Today, though, we have just a small update. If you were considering buying the £150 Aspire One but weren't so sure about the white case, this is for you: we've found another store selling blue ones for the same price. So that's an Acer Aspire One, with an Atom processor and 1GB of memory, in blue, going for £150. Also, unlike our previous deal, delivery from this store is free. Click the jump for details.

BRAND NEW Acer laptop just £150

Aspire OneIt's just typical, really - you wait years for a big-brand netbook computer at under £150, and then two come along at once. Just a few days back we found an Acer Aspire One netbook being sold for just £150 because it was factory refurbished stock - now we've found a store selling brand new ones for the same price.

The Aspire One was one of our favourite netbooks (or mini-laptops, if you speak English) of last year, and it's still a great little computer. This particular version comes in white (not the pink plastic version we found going cheap a while back), has 1GB of memory and a 120GB hard disk inside, and comes with a one-year worldwide warranty. Click the jump to find out where to get it.

Acer Laptop just £150

Aspire OneOver the last few weeks we've listed several notebooks that are really excellent value, but this particular deal is going to be hard to beat: an Acer Aspire One netbook (mini-notebook) for just under £150.

The Acer Aspire One A110 is small enough to fit into a bag easily, but has an impressively comfortable keyboard. This particular model has an Intel Atom processor, 512MB of memory and 8GB of storage space - you can easily add more by plugging in an SD memory card.

We previously found an Aspire One selling for £178 if you were prepared to buy a pink model, but today we've found the far more attractive shiny white version (not the blue one shown above) selling for a bargainous £149.49 - click the jump for details.

Acer Aspire One Netbook - Just £178

Aspire OneIf you're on the lookout for a mini laptop, this has to be one of the cheapest deals we've ever seen: we've found a store selling the Acer Aspire One 110-L for less than £180.

The Aspire One was one of our favourite netbooks when it first appeared: it's small and smart with a particularly usable keyboard given its tiny size. The 110-L includes an Intel Atom processor, 1GB of memory and a 16GB SSD (solid state disk) for storage. It runs a simplified Linux operating system that gives you access to office and internet tools without the need to worry about security software.

So, how come it's so cheap? Find out after the jump.

Windows XP Netbook - Under £200

Lenovo Ideapad S9eYesterday we brought you a MSI netbook running Linux for less than £200, but today we've found an alternative that runs Windows XP at the same great price.

Although Linux is great for many netbook users, having XP makes it easy to install familiar programs such as Photoshop Elements and Microsoft Office or to install a 3G broadband modem for fast internet access anywhere. You will need to add some anti-virus software, but we recently featured something suitable for just a few quid.

The netbook is a Lenovo S9e with an Intel Atom processor, 1GB of memory, an 80GB hard disk, Bluetooth built-in and an 8.9inch display. For more information, and where to buy, click the jump.

MSI Wind Netbook - Save £150

MSI WindMSI's Wind range might have a slightly silly name, but it includes some excellent netbooks - Computeractive gave one an award back in 2008. The first few models are getting slightly long in the tooth now, but with an Atom processor, a 10" display, 1GB of memory and an 80GB hard disk they're still great for surfing the web, working with documents or computing on the move. And now we've found one at a bargain price.

The Wind U100 Linux originally cost around £350, and is still selling in most places for at least £260, but we've found a retailer selling its last few units for just £199.99 with free delivery. Click the jump to find out where to get it.

Toshiba Satellite L300 laptop for £280

Satellite L300If you're looking for a laptop at less than £300, most of the computers on offer will be netbooks. These have their advantages - they're small and light - but with low-power Atom processors inside they're not ideal for use as your main computer. Today we've found a proper Toshiba laptop for £280 - that's a laptop for less than what you'll pay for many netbooks.

The Satellite L300 has a 15.4" widescreen display, an Intel Celeron processor, 2GB of memory and a 160GB hard disk. It comes with Windows Vista Home Premium installed and a copy of Microsoft Works, so it'd be ideal for schoolwork. Click the jump to find out where to get it.

Fridges, TVs, Laptops £5 this Monday - if you're quick

fiver_tv.jpgWe're used to seeing some pretty bold claims from retailers, but BuyItDirect might take the prize for the most ambitious promotion of the year: it claims to be giving away over £50,000 worth of products this Monday, with buyers paying just under a fiver for postage.

The list of products includes Smeg fridges worth over £1,000, Miele washing machines worth almost £500, Sony LCD TVs worth around £300 and Acer Aspire notebooks worth £518 each. The less ambitious might pick up a toaster (around £40), laptop bag (£22) or webcam (£20). Given that postage for each costs £4.95 we're not sure that the Belkin Keyboard extender (worth £4.97) is such a great buy, but there you go.

We checked how many of each item will be available to give away and the company told us it had 12 fridges, 7 washing machines and 23 Acer laptops, amongst others. Click the jump to find out how to get one of them for just under a fiver.
