Pocket Camcorder - just £40!

VadoWe've listed quite a few bargain-priced cameras here in the past, but today here's something even better: a pocket-sized camcorder for under £40.

Camcorders used to be huge things that chomped through tapes in minutes. With the latest generation of pocket camcorders, though, things are far easier: you simply carry a small device in your pocket, point and shoot then transfer the video to a computer in seconds via USB. Most such models cost well over £100, but at £40 this Creative Vado is a bargain. It has one-touch recording, a rechargeable battery, 2GB of built-in storage for your videos and a built-in USB plug that makes transferring videos a breeze. Click the jump for information on where to buy.

Sony Alpha A200 DSLR - Save £165!

Sony Alpha A200Sony's Alpha 200, or A200, is a fantastic digital SLR camera. It takes 10.2 megapixel images, so you can crop them down significantly and still produce decent-sized prints, and an image-stabilisation system built into the camera body helps to reduce camera shake no matter what lens you use. The standard kit includes an 18-70mm zoom lens.

Unfortunately, though, the A200 is generally a bit expensive - the RRP for the standard kit is £449.99, so even with a healthy discount you're looking to pay around £350. Not today, though. We've found a major retailer discounting the A200 kit down to less than £285 - so you're getting a top-notch digital SLR camera for well under £300. Click here for Sony's detailed specification document on A200 (PDF), or click the jump for details of where to get one at a bargain price.

Two 8GB memory cards for £17.99

PNY 8GB memory cards SDHCIt wasn't long ago that it would have been a bargain to find a single 8GB memory card for under £20. So what could be better than that? That's right, two 8GB SDHC memory cards for under £20: £17.99, to be exact.

These cards, made by big name manufacturer PNY, will fit any camera that's compatible with SDHC cards. The capacity means enough space on each card for several hundred photographs from most cameras. Do note that some older cameras, which use SD memory cards, will not work with the higher-capacity SDHC cards.

Those of you with compatible cameras, find out how to buy by clicking the jump.

12 Megapixel Camera for £69

Benq C1220We've listed quite a few bargain-priced Digital SLR cameras lately, but not everyone wants to carry around a huge great chunk of plastic, electronics and glass every time they want to take a photo. What if you just want a simple camera that you can chuck into a pocket? Well, today we've found one at a low price.

The BenQ C1220 is a 12 Megapixel compact camera with a 2.7 inch colour screen and a 3x optical zoom lens. It takes two standard AA batteries, so there's no need to muck about with taking a charger, cable and plug adapter with you on holiday, and it also includes "blink detection technology" - we assume that's for avoiding pictures of blinking people rather than taking them at just the right time.

The C1220 normally sells for around £85, but today we've found it for just £69 - click the jump for details.

Olympus DSLR under £300

Olympus E420We recently listed a Sony Alpha digital SLR camera being sold for the ludicrously low price of £250, but sadly the store in question has regained its senses and bumped the price back up to over £310. If you're still looking for a top quality camera to take creative photos, though, never fear: we've found another one for under £300.

Olympus is one of the best known names in photography, and its digital SLRs have been acclaimed for their tiny dimensions - a design that's made possible by the small four-thirds lens mount and sensor. The E-420 (E420) is amazingly small and light, but still takes 10-Megapixel images at up to 3.5 frames per second and has a live view display for shooting at difficult angles. You can find a full specification on the Olympus site here.

And, better still, we've found a store selling it with the standard 14-42mm kit lens for less than £295. Click the jump to find out where.

Sony DSLR just £250 - Save £130

Sony Alpha 200Many of today's compact cameras are great, allowing you to take sharp, printable photos using a device that'll slip easily into a pocket.

Making a camera really small, however, always means introducing some compromises, and attempting to use one for creative photography is generally a frustrating experience at best. If you want to take really good photos, you'll need a DSLR. And today we've found one for just £250 - that's less than many vastly inferior compact cameras.

Sony hasn't been making DSLRs for long, but its Alpha 200 was built using technology from Minolta. It shoots 10.2 megapixel images, has image stabilisation built into the body so it'll work with cheaper non-stabilised lenses, has a 2.7 inch display on the back and a nine-point autofocus system. It can even shoot three high-quality Jpeg images per second until the memory card fills up - try that on a pocket sized camera.

The A200 originally retailed for £380, which was pretty good considering its spec, but with a new model around the corner we've found a store selling it for a frankly ludicrous £250. Click the jump for details.

Flip Mino HD Camcorder £145 - Save £25

Flip Mino HDIn the 1980s camcorders were the size of a toaster and recorded crummy footage onto enormous, clunky tapes that were a pain in the neck to edit. Today even professional-quality HD cameras are tiny by comparison - and then there's the Flip Mino HD.

This tiny camera is - using the tradidional "measure a gadget by comparing it to a household object" scale - roughly as large as a mobile phone, so it slips easily into a pocket, but despite this tiny size it records high-definition video. It records onto built-in memory, so there's no need to muck about with tapes, and to edit or share videos you simply plug it into a PC or Mac via USB. Neat.

The best price you're likely to find for this impressive gadget is £169.99 - but we've found a deal where you can get it for £145 - that's a healthy £25 saving. Click the jump to find out more.

Nikon Coolpix for £80

Nikon CoolpixThese days it's fairly easy to pick up a digital compact camera for less than £100, but it's rather harder to get one that's built well enough to survive tumbling around in a pocket or handbag. Today we've found an interesting bargain: a compact camera from Nikon, with a sturdy metal body, for just £80.

The camera is a Coolpix S510 - not from the latest range, but not ancient either - with an 8.1 Megapixel sensor, a 3x optical zoom and a 2.5 inch screen on the back. It even includes face detection so the autofocus should always lock on the subject properly, avoiding blurry portraits. You'll find a more detailed review here, or click the jump for details and where to buy.

Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-T700 under £200

DSC-T700.jpgSony's Cyber-Shot DSC-T700 is an unusual looking camera: it's incredibly slim, but there's a 4x optical zoom packed inside, a 3.5-inch touchscreen on the back and it takes 10.1 megapixel images. There's even 4GB of built-in memory so there's no need to fork out for an extra memory card.

The DSC-T700 is available in a range of colours has an RRP of £330, but if you love this bright pink model (Sony calls it red, but it looks pink to us) then you can grab it at a bargain price.
