Sony's Alpha 200, or A200, is a fantastic digital SLR camera. It takes 10.2 megapixel images, so you can crop them down significantly and still produce decent-sized prints, and an image-stabilisation system built into the camera body helps to reduce camera shake no matter what lens you use. The standard kit includes an 18-70mm zoom lens.

Unfortunately, though, the A200 is generally a bit expensive - the RRP for the standard kit is £449.99, so even with a healthy discount you're looking to pay around £350. Not today, though.
