19in High-Def Television / Monitor - Save £90

LG H1900It seems that these days televisions just get bigger and bigger - most start at 32 inches, with monstrous 40 inch, 50 inch and larger displays coming down in price. If you're looking for something a little smaller, perhaps for a second television or simply because you prefer something a little less room-dominating, this could be ideal.

LG's 19H2000 is a proper high-definition ready LCD television, but with a 19in screen it's small enough to fit into most rooms. It has a built-in Freeview TV tuner, an HDMI socket for high-definition picture sources such as Blu-ray players and also a PC input so it can be used as a computer monitor. Its normal price is £230, but we've found a store selling this TV for just £140 - click the jump for details.

Backup Software - Half Price!

Acronis True Image Home 2010Just about every PC user knows that it's important to keep backups of any important documents or photos stored on a computer in case something goes wrong - but what about the software on that PC? Most of us spend time adding extra programs and tweaking Windows to run just the way we want it, and even if you do have all the necessary discs and keycodes to hand putting everything back in place after a serious PC problem could take days. Unless, of course, you have an image backup.

Image backups take a copy of everything on your computer, including Windows and all its settings and any programs that are installed. To make one you'll need a suitable program, and today we've found one of the best, Acronis True Image Home 2010, for just £20 - and that's half the regular price. Click the jump for details.

There are loads of software packages and services available to help you research family history on a computer, but many are expensive - today we've found one selling for under half price.

This Who Do You Think You Are Family Tree Maker package is the deluxe version, so as well as software to help you compile family tree information it also includes a three month subscription to Ancestry.co.uk worth £32 - not bad when you're getting the entire package for around half that price. The normal selling cost is £40, but we've found it for just £17 - click the jump for details.

Desktop PC for under £150

IBM PCComputer prices get lower and lower every day, but you'd be hard pressed to find many complete desktop PCs for under £150. Today, though, we've found just that: an IBM desktop computer, with screen, for £149.

This ThinkCenter M51 has a 3.2GHz Pentium 4 Processor, 512MB of memory and a DVD drive. A copy of Windows XP Professional is installed. As you might have guessed from the price these systems aren't brand new - we strongly suspect the previous owner will have been a company that has just upgraded its network of computers. Still, at this price they're something of a bargain. Click the jump for details.

Lenovo Laptop - Under Half Price!

Lenovo G550It's not often you see a discount this big: this Lenovo laptop computer has seen its price hacked down from £1186 to under £600.

The G550 has a 15.6" widescreen display, a dual-core Intel T6600 processor, Nvidia graphics, a whopping 4GB of memory, a 500GB hard disk and runs Windows 7 Home Premium. For details of where to grab this powerful laptop at a discount of over 50%, click the jump.

Three laptops from under £150

Dell Mini 9Netbook computers have become cheaper and cheaper over the past year, but it's still relatively rare to see one break the £200 barrier. In case you're on the lookout for a super-cheap laptop for internet and office use, though, we've rounded up the three cheapest deals currently available.

All three are for refurbished computers - these have been sold, returned, checked up by the manufacturers and certified as fit for resale. As they cannot be sold as new, these products are significantly discounted - often by as much as £100. But enough of that - what's the best deal?

Aspire OneWell, for just £132 you could pick up an Acer Aspire One netbook (pictured, left). This model has 8gb of storage and runs the Linplus Lite Linux operating system rather than Windows - fine if you want to surf the web or send email, and there's no need to install any security software to keep it safe.

Alternatively, if you'd prefer the familiarity and compatibility of Windows XP, we've found a store selling the same PC with that system installed for a little more: £160. This version also includes twice as much memory: 1GB rather than 512MB.

And finally, if you'd prefer another brand, we've found a shop selling refurbished Dell Mini 9 netbooks (pictured at the top of this post) for the same price of £160. These run the well known Ubuntu Linux operating system and have 8GB of storage.

AVG Anti-Virus : Save £22, just £6

press_box_avd_en.jpgAVG is very well known for making its basic anti-virus program completely free to download. While AVG free gives excellent basic protection, however, it isn't exactly packed with features.

To get the full set of anti-virus tools the company asks you to pay £28 for its full anti-virus product. As well as the protection found in AVG Free, this includes a rootkit scanner, protection against phishing attacks, a special mode designed to work with video games, the company's web shield technology and technical support from the company.

At £28 the program isn't bad value, but we can do much better. Today we've found a store selling this full paid-for anti-virus suite for just under £6 - that's a £22 discount on the recommended price. Click the jump for details.
